Founded in 1924, Merkel has grown from a small town hardware store in Chelsea, to two locations–our beautiful furniture and flooring store in Chelsea and flooring only store in Ann Arbor.

Still family owned, Merkel’s growth can be attributed to always giving customer service top priority. Tim Merkel, a third-generation owner, manages the furniture products in Chelsea, while his partner Fred Zuidveld oversees the flooring operations for both stores.
